My friend has surgery coming up in a few weeks and did not take the Covid vaccine. She is genuinely worried that, if a transfusion becomes necessary, she could receive blood from a vaccinated donor, and she is also concerned the hospital might administer a flu or COVID vaccine during her stay. Those fears are strong enough that they are causing some people to delay or avoid procedures they actually need.

She is not alone, these are legitimate fears that many of us have.
