Zion was founded in 1745. Some say it may be the oldest Lutheran congregation in Lexington County. Our Address is 226 Corley Mill Road, Lexington, SC 29072.
On Mother’s Day we thank God for placing in our lives mothers and mothering figures who are images of grace, love, tenderness, strength and courage. We also pray for God's comfort and care for all those who struggle on this day.
"I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh" (John 6:51).
"In you, O Lord, I seek refuge; do not let me ever be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me. Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily. Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me." (Psalm 31:1-2)
God of compassion, you welcome the wayward, and you embrace us all with your mercy. By our baptism clothe us with garments of your grace, and feed us at the table of your love. Amen. (ELW, p. 28)
