If your hot take was the reality, I may assume no women would ever want to get married (women would be at a major disadvantage if they had children with him and was a stay at home mum) so perhaps people need to think seriously about getting a prenup before marriage.

Men are usually unlikely to initiate divorce as staying in the marriage benefits them more; married men are healthier, wife may do a majority of house work, food prep, and if they have children; looking after them as well as other hidden responsibilities.

A marriage takes two to tango so both men and women need to fight to make the marriage work. It's not really a marriage if only one party is fighting or benefiting from it.

Not sure if we watched the same drama, the son reveals to the viewers that his mother was beaten up by her husband (aka his dad). It's hinted that the mother literally did her best to raise her son to not have him end up like his father (beating someone they consider weaker and defenceless). The son had plenty of opportunities to kill others yet, choose to target the defenceless pregnant girl who, not long just giving birth and can't walk properly due to injured leg. The mother protected the pregnant girl as she might have seen that her son at this point ended becoming like his father. If you watched season 2, the son, really was just blinded by the money and made questionable choices that risk his safety and the innocent life of his mother who took part in the game just purely for the sake of her son's debt. The fact that she is the one to finish her son actually makes her character less one dimensional than just being a mother, and more noble and truly a selfless person in my eyes as she saw and treated people for who they truly are as an individual ( you see this not just her son but how she had kindly treated other characters throughout the series).

This scene is interesting.. the whole Yellow/blue colour scheme is very prominent in this scene. Jaeyi standing in high ground 'looks down' into the blue tinted swimming pool and then at Seulgi who is standing in low ground / yellow tile flooring (almost as if Seulgi and the swimming pool (her plan) were align / equal? ) Jaeyi may have decided on something in that moment as she turns away ( notice the lighting on Jaeyi's face) The camera then zooms out as Jaeyi walks towards the rectangular arch where the warm lights are turned on. If anything, this scene hints at Friendly Rivalry's ending (Jaeyi does jump into the water (her original plan) but she will also find her way back to Seulgi (her reason to live).
