In the Most Holy Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who reigns forever in unity with the Almighty Father and the Lifegiving Holy Spirit, I have been baptized and confirmed into the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church founded by our Savior and sustained by the Holy Spirit.
@FeserEdward Glad you added Platonic!
Scotus, Hervaeus, Caietanus, Pomponatius diffinite posuerit Aristotelem pro certo tenuisse animae deficientiam
"Scotus...Cajetan,Pomponazzi definitively maintained that Aristotle held the soul's deficiency/mortality as certain."

I would humbly recommend Immortal Souls: A Treatise on Human Nature, especially for anyone who would like to become familiar with the classical (Platonic, Aristotelian, Thomistic) critique of materialism rather than the more familiar but flawed Cartesian approach.
The fundamental issue with modern society is many people genuinely do not believe in Human Dignity
This means they don't believe in Philosophy, Ethics, Law, Politics, Medicine, and more as things that must always be oriented toward Humanity.
This must be annihilated
Many people are rediscovering the Gospel and embracing the faith against the backdrop of a society marked by a deeply secularized culture. With pastoral tenderness and fraternal charity, we must recognize, welcome, and protect the small flame that the Holy Spirit has kindled in the darkness of the night. #ApostolicJourney #France https://t.co/Uhu1qqqrzO
Jesus Christ, through His Incarnation, comes to meet every person in the midst of their own story, and reveals Himself as the true source of living water capable of quenching our thirst. This thirst that dwells in every human heart is not so much a thirst for material things, but a thirst for meaning, truth, and fulfilment. Jesus responds to our profound desire for relationship and communion with God, in whom the fullness of life forever resides. #ApostolicJourney #France https://t.co/X2EYktU5qW
In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.
the damage league has done to MOBAs needs to be studied. deadlock rejuvenates the genre and brings a whole new perspective. also waiting for riot to make a deadlock copy thats 12x worse
St. Bonaventure: the Incarnate Christ being the coincidence of opposites and the redeemer distinguishes his role as 'middle' and 'mediator.' As middle, Christ is the meeting of Uncreated and created in a single person. As mediator he reconciles the world in the humanity assumed.
A Catholic sexual ethic would be good for everyone:
* No sex before marriage
* No denying sex after marriage
* No killing your kids
* Especially not before they are born.
* No condoms ever, they are gay.
* Finish what you start (no pulling out)
* Always listen to your husband
Interesting that when Trump came to China, Xi welcomed him with a team of happy children waving 🇺🇸🇨🇳 flags; and when Xi comes to the US, he gets a heavy bomber fly over his head.
Different societies have different aesthetics and values.
"Plato affirms, along with the mysteries: it is through night that one reaches light, through death that one finds life, through nothing that one enters into the whole — or rather, that one learns one has already entered it. Yet the shadows must still offer the occasion for a refusal and a fulfillment. Apart from this, there is no communication with the absolute. Platonism is not an escape."
- Fr. Jean Trouillard
