Zire stared into the distance until the otherβs voice finally reached him.
His eyes shifted. His nose wrinkled, and a shudder ran through his body as though he could shake the feeling loose.
When he turned, the smile he offered was practiced and painfully false.

He pauses on that last sentence making a scrunching face with his nose--
