Cartoon Base's Full Exclusive ‘Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Q&A with the show’s amazing writer Ron Corcillo.

Cartoon Base: Do you still think there's a chance the show can get renewed with enough support?

Ron Corcillo: I don't think it would happen anytime soon because the focus is on Tales of the TMNT right now. I've said before that if it could be brought back, it would probably be as a retro series sometime down the road. Nick does that a lot.

Cartoon Base: Could we get more comics and possibly another season if the new Rise of the TMNT comic sells well?

Ron Corcillo: More comics could absolutely happen, and I think that would be a great way to continue the Rise story. A successful comic would help with any chance of a series down the road.

Cartoon Base: In what part of production were the episodes that were cut from Season 2?

Ron Corcillo: A couple of episodes actually had final animatics. Several had animatics that were complete and just in need of some revisions. Others had storyboards or complete scripts and voice tracks.

Cartoon Base: Did you write the final episode of Season 2 after knowing the season was cut in half or before?

Ron Corcillo: The episode you saw was written after. Before, we had begun work on an eight-episode arc that would have comprised the entire finale. The first couple of episodes of that arc had been written.

Cartoon Base: If the show got renewed is there a key focus or a character ark you'd like to explore?

Ron Corcillo: I would love to explore the story of Cassandra and Casey Jones and their battles against the Krang.

Cartoon Base: What can we do to help save the show?

Ron Corcillo: Keep posting, sharing and supporting the show, and in particular, support the comic by @wolfboy74! That's the best chance of more Rise content.
