@Gaming_Shuffle The only way for you to play this card from outside the game is if you meet it's companion requirements. If it is in the deck then you don't have to meet it's requirements but it's ability still triggers off of cards cmc less than 3

@Gaming_Shuffle If it's in your deck then no restrictions....ignites a sideboard companion then yes to the restrictions

@Gaming_Shuffle So Companion is basically a card you can keep in your sideboard and play as long as you meet the companion requirements. It doesn't have to be in the deck you can just cast it from the sideboard at anytime
