a lot of people are calling the whole Cyberleek situation a giant cash grab, but i wanna point something out.
going through his website, the message to the gaming industry seems pretty clear: if Rockstar’s biggest game can get leaked, nobody is safe.
he’s laid out what gets a company targeted: shutting down servers without an offline mode, getting rid of discs, or putting stuff behind paywalls that he thinks should be earnable in-game instead of sold as more DLC.
call me crazy. i know i am, but i think some good could come out of this for the gaming industry.
i was running some games with buddies today and asking people in proximity chat on Arc raders and War Dogs what they thought about the situation. out of everyone i talked to, about half thought what he’s doing was cool. the other half just didn’t want spoilers or had no care about GTA 6
The point is no discs = no GameStop. and if your entire library is tied to an account, getting banned could mean losing hundreds or thousands of dollars worth of games.
i think these big gaming corporations know that. over the next 5–10 years, how much more money could they make milking players if they can get them to buy the same games again?
so what’s more of a cash grab here?
i know which side i’m leaning toward.
but the whole project seems cool, fun, and entertaining to me. the ownership issues he’s pointing at are worth talking about.
if big news outlets keep picking this up, watch Cyberleek somehow end up as a character in GTA 6 😂
GTA RP already gave us the “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em” arc.
lol what a movie.
🚨 Rockstar Games employment tribunal will not finish on Friday.
It has been rescheduled for 17th & 18th November.
Rockstar's lawyers requested more time to examine a certain fired employee.
anyone in gaming should really look into the cyberleek situation because this isn’t about ruining GTA6 at all.
Cyberleek is threatening every publishers over digital preorders, locked single-player DLC, and games dying when servers shut down. Saying, if they can breach rockstar, no one is safe.
it also advertises paid custom gameplay footage and a token milestone roadmap promising a full GTA6 playable build which honestly explains all the obscure content of Lucia we’ve seen lately.
this goes beyond Rockstar, the manifesto puts the wider industry on notice.
huge claims. But overall seems like a good thing for the gaming industry. Not just a cash grab as everyone is saying rn.
As a gamer i will say this. I have a different perspective than most. what cyberleek will do has a greater impact than you can imagine.
Rockstar has been the standard for the gaming industry since gta5. them taking away disks means slowly. No new games will ever have disks again. Yes you can say this is all about money but this whole situation and every message by CL seems to be on a personal level.
As to my point, why I think there’s a possibility it’s an ex rockstar Dev that fueled this chaos.
Point is. ACCOUNT BANNED THERE GOES YOURE GAME LIBRARY. these big game corporations know they can make a whole lot more money if they get you to buy the game multiple times.
Who’s more greedy in this situation? I know the side i’m taking.
I guess GTA VI sales didn’t meet Rockstar Games expectations, and Take-Two’s stock price dropped. This could be one of the reasons behind the rumor that Rockstar Games is planning to release GTA VI in the first three months of 2027.
To follow up on my last take for the cyberleek situation. obviously i am bag bias on cyberleek, but to me everything still points to my original thesis, and i still have conviction even at 1.4m mc.
none of this trade has ever made sense to me since the very beginning.
the price action, the way cyberleek acted like a vigilante while still seeming structured and thought out. it was all so attractive and interesting.
from the burn of 26% to the bigger movement/message a month ago, cyberleek always seemed like a video game character to me.
roleplay.
i still have the crazy idea that this is tied to gta in game and that cyberleek is an actual character - after the latest cyber leak, it’s confirmed that there’s a cryptocurrency in a side mission where Lucia is performing stunt to promote a pump and dump. call $buckme
the most viral leak was the gent on the boat talking about how the govt couldn’t find him because of his vpn. the last scene in the netflix trailer was him saying “trust me.”
the articles aligning, xbox dropping their 25th anniversary on the same day, no real damage done to rockstar, but now cyber league threatening to release source code? I think this is personal. Even if cyber leak releases this game a day before launch, GTA will have to set back their game bec mods will be available day one.
but maybe it is a basement hacker and they’ve just played 7d chess with me and 55k others. in that case, ggs to them.
i know i sound crazy, and probably am, but i still believe
props to @MINHxDYNASTY for the rough draft. still a valid and relevant take to this day. remember sir the biggest risk is taking no risk. see you @ 🚀.
@MINHxDYNASTY be grateful for you have the eye for opportunity bro. always stay grateful. you’ll get that house one day. the key is to never give up i hear?
My personal and well researched take on the whole cyberleek situation. And if this has any effect and relevance for the next month when the game releases.
let’s go over what happened first round.
Cyberleek came out with various leaks One of them, which I think, is most important to me, is him shooting his name in the wall which kind of confirms he has some control over a sort of early dev build. And I agree with the some comments: the 200 K he made is not worth being put on a national watch list for the rest of his life and up to 10-20 years of prison.
Personal thoughts, this is just getting started. But potentially, call me crazy. I’ve heard from podcasts in the past there’s current internal beef with the rockstar teams, new vs early old devs and this could be potentially tied to an actual rockstar developer. whole thing seems on a personal level.
Cryptocurrency is officially known to be a thing in GTA 6, as shown by the latest cyber leak video when Lucia is taking a phone call in the elevator, talking about performing a stunt to pump and dump a crypto. They literally even show her purchasing it in-game. Currency was called $buckme. I thought it was fake at first, but I did a lot of deep diving today.
people wanna agrue that Cyberleek pump and dumped the first round, but he never actually held any tokens, (confirmed) and only made money through transaction fees. Burned around 260 million tokens worth $1 million at the time.
so if this was completely about money, he would’ve taken off with 1 million and calmly went on. but this is more personal, and this guy/team is not an idiot and doesn’t just see the small picture.
Don’t forget, all publicity is good publicity and cl knows that. trusting my gut, maybe cyber leak sees 30 mil, and it reshapes the way GTA VI releases.
If he leaks it, people will be able to mod GTA VI day one. a game that cost billions to make and over 12 years of production.
This situation could literally cause GTA VI to set back the schedule of the release date, which I would agree is a terrible thing, and I don’t wanna see that.
but at the same time, GTA VI is the benchmark for gaming. rockstar is the benchmark, and them not having physical disks will lead to no one ever having physical discs, which means we won’t own none of our games in the future. accounts banned. There goes your game library.
anyone that’s lost money during this, I wouldn’t give into FUD, doubt, and fear so quick. Obviously, this is a zero or hero type play.
but as a gamer, I do see this being a pro gamer move rather than just a pump and dump, as everyone’s calling it. obviously not telling anyone to put any money they’re not willing to lose into this, because it could very well go to zero.
but the way this guy has orchestrated this and is always thinking a couple steps ahead makes me think this could be something.
Entertaining scenario is always the most likely one to play out. Every time.
I’ll update at 30 mil market cap or 0. Oh and @MINHxDYNASTY did a 10/10 being a top holder and kinda a spokesperson on crucial updates last time. Hope to see him stay around for round 2.
Game might not be over.
