Thank you to the @guardian for this 4 star review. This is the first piece of new writing that @Owencl and I have created together from concept to stage so this means a lot. Congratulations to all of our amazing co-creatives who made this play with us, particularly @B_Tallulah 💚

On International Women's Day, see the women working on A Tryal Of Witches as well as two young female cast members.
"In this production women are at the centre of the story both on stage and behind the scenes. As a woman, it isn't always easy to work in a male dominated industry, particularly for mothers, due to the late nights, childcare costs and relocation. So to be surrounded by such wonderful, strong, skilled women - who are mothers, carers, partners - fills me with pride." @Zoe2Fox, A Tryal Of Witches Producer.
@B_Tallulah, A Tryal Of Witches playwright: "We know next to nothing about the women hanged in the Suffolk witch trials - on international women’s day it feels especially poignant to be breathing life into these characters. An all-female cast takes on a new level of profundity when staging a play about misogyny. Hopkins spouted such deranged theories about women I’ve loved the way in which having a woman playing him subtly undermines him - we’ll call it Brechtian feminism."

We're thrilled that our pantomime designer, Dawn Allsopp, is the WINNER of Best Costume Design at the @UKPantomime Pantomime Awards 2024 for our in-house pantomime of Snow White. See some of our cast and creative team last night at the awards ceremony 😄
The fantastic costumes were inspired by the late Queen Elizabeth and her early work in the ATS in WW2. Also a huge congratulations to our Wardrobe Supervisor Rebecca Rawlinson and her team for creating the beautiful designs! #panto #suffolk #burystedmunds #theatre See thread for costume examples and images:
Delighted that we won this award last night! Dawn’s designs WERE award winning - they were great! Our Wardrobe Supervisor Rebecca Rawlinson is also a marvel.
@McBrydeRyan@mercurytheatre Oh we will miss you! I know we have only crossed paths a small amount but I have always found you so warm and supportive in those moments. I’m sure you will be very missed by the Mercury team. Hopefully we will work together again x
Delighted to see our Designer Dawn Allsopp nominated for Best Costume at the UK Panto Awards - her designs on Snow White were so exciting this year - fun, original and joyous - all you want in a pantomime.
Beautifully realised by our Wardrobe Supervisor Rebecca Rawlinson.
Yes! Snow White has been nominated for Best Panto (under 500 seats) by @UKPantomime for the second year in a row! 🍎

Incredible view from my seat in tech week - at the back of the raked seats on our stage. We have turned @TheatreRoyalBSE into the round for the first time in 15 years for our production of Richard, My Richard 🌹
Very few tickets still available, but it is possible to find some!
