Great time at #RCNReps2023. Great range of topics covered, generating interesting and informative conversations. Have met some wonderful reps and feeling empowered to go back to my workplace and raise the voice of nurses in the ambulance service!
@NurseStandard There are nurses working within ambulance trusts across the country already doing this! We are NHS Pathways trained and clinically assess patients to ensure that they recieve the most appropriate care whether that be an ambulance response, self presenting ED or other services.
FACT: A 999 call handler will ALWAYS ask for you to repeat the address.
This is often where the abuse starts as the caller believes we haven’t listened.
This is not True ❌
In a panic the address is often given incorrectly so #DontChooseToAbuse#HelpUsHelpYou

This is a historic moment & members are anxious but we stand firm in our conviction to fight for a better future for ourselves, the nursing profession & crucially for our patients. Please join #RCNStrike & show solidarity as we embark on something difficult but crucial @theRCN ✊🏻
Tomorrow is the first of the NHS workers strikes.
Remember:
- We are humans just like you.
- We can’t provide great care when we are losing staff at alarming rates.
- Patients are NOT being abandoned.
- Strikes could have been avoided if the Government chose to engage.
I ASK EVERYONE WHO SEES THIS TWEET TO PLEASE RT IT.
Tomorrow nurses strike. They will be put through hell by the media, politicians and the establishment.
Ahead of the action please share this tweet if you back the nurses and find it sickening that they are being vilified.
Did you clap our NHS workers during the pandemic?
In the coming weeks, nurses, junior doctors, ambulance service and other health workers will ballot to strike.
They’re fighting for better – because claps don’t pay the bills.
RT if you’re behind them 👊

I've added my name to a letter telling the Prime Minister it is time to protect nursing to protect the public. Will you add yours? Without nursing staff, there is no NHS. https://t.co/DmvG7ZEQWp
