#YearInReview: We came together with survivors of human trafficking across Latin America and the Caribbean to better understand their needs.
The event was the first of its kind in the region.
It created a safe space to strengthen victim-centred and trauma-informed responses.
Human trafficking is everyone’s responsibility.
No single country can fight it alone.
It takes global solidarity, stronger laws, survivor support and community awareness to break the cycle.

At today’s High-level Meeting on Human Trafficking, I called on governments, civil society, and the private sector to come together to combat human trafficking. Even if we cannot eliminate the darkest impulses of humanity entirely, together we can eliminate the systems that enable them and build a world where “the dignity and worth of the human person” is always respected.

On #InternationalDayForCare, let’s resolve to transform these systems based on respect for the rights of those providing care and support, and those who require it.
Drug cartels in Europe traffic children, using them as spotters or drug couriers.
Early identification, stronger child protection and tailored support to child victims are key to ending their exploitation.

Human trafficking is a horrific crime & a gross violation of human rights.
On this #EndHumanTrafficking Day, let's act together to stand with victims, hold perpetrators to account & build a world where no one is bought, sold, or exploited.
Organized criminal networks exploit more victims, with greater violence & higher profits than independent traffickers.
On World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, @UNODC & @DianeSchmittEU urge global action to dismantle these operations and #EndHumanTrafficking.
