This case is wild when you actually lay it out. A woman says a slur while fleeing with her kid and gets $1,000 in fines, 200 community service hours, and international headlines. Meanwhile the guy she said it to walks away with a $200 fine for throwing a weapon at a car and assaulting the driver, and reportedly wasn't even charged over the earlier allegations against a minor that got dropped "in the interest of justice."
Nobody's saying what she said was okay. But if the system only gets loud and thorough for one side of an interaction and shrugs at the other, that's not justice, that's optics. People notice when accountability seems to depend on who the story is about, not what actually happened.
