@games_inu Breathing has very specific spacing. When you breathe in, you both ease out and in. It's slow and deliberate. The exhale however is more of a fast out. Then you adjust those guidelines depending on the situation. The rest is nice secondary motion / arcs. could add procedurally🤔
@games_inu Do you think the majority of the FF7: Re animations use root motion? There's a lot of foot slide on that particular kick in the beginning, which makes me think root motion wasn't used. But when Barret is walking and aiming his gun, feels like the root moves w/ each footstep🤔
An old attempt at mixamo retargeting and implementing 2D blendspaces in UE4 for a game jam (which... never saw the light of day). Pretty fun and minus some setting memorization, very intuitive! I'll post the blendspaces as well just in case anyone is curious.
Oh and the roll itself is played via montage. No blendspaces or anything fancy either. That could be implemented better as it gets a little weird code-wise. Fine for a game jam but scuffed overall lol.
@DuelistsOfEden i'll throw my hat into the ring, why not? this game consumed my life for a month straight, i've never had a more nervewracking experience than beating the gate with aria violette LMAO. Getting the One Shot achievement was genuinely less stressful than that
This whole jam was an absolute blast to be a part of. The 48hr grind, listening to CRAZY good tracks, receiving so many lovely comments :^) it was a blessed experience. thank you for hosting and i can't wait to see what's in store for the next jam! <3
