"War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives." MajGen Smedley Butler

The problem here is the state isnt infallible.
The state has murdered innocent people who were after the fact exonerated of the crimes of which they were accused.
One is too many and it happens far more often than you think.
We must outlaw the death penalty.
This is Christian nationalism in action: a senior Pentagon official wrapping government power in biblical language and casting himself as commissioned by God.
The U.S. military serves “We the People,” not “the Lord.”
One of my favorite social bonds is the quiet, collective fury of people in line behind a group that, we realize, is going to spend 2 minutes per person asking questions and making substitutions.
Then they wrap up and the rest of us try to use as few words as possible to just order what we came for.
Victor Wembanyama was asked if he would ever sign a deal with a sports betting company: “Absolutely not. Honestly, I think it’s very sad to see some players promote it.”
Our tracker of hyperscaler off balance sheet liabilities shows $3.8 trillion as of Sept 30, up $700BN from June 30.
Adding $250BN in hyperscaler IG debt, the DV01 issued by the AI ecosystem in Q3 was about 25% higher than all Treasury issuance
That's why yields keep rising
The Rams persecution complex continues.
They don’t like legit calls that go against them.
They don’t like bad calls that go against them.
They ignore the bad calls that go in their favor.
Maybe try not throwing picks sixes and allowing punt returns for TDs.
Eric Schmitt: "Did you or did you not fall in love with a Native American woman who could talk to willow trees and paint with all the colors of the wind?"
Jack Smith: "That was John Smith."
If there's one thing both we and the Soviets learned during the Cold War, it was never to co-locate your illegal drug operations with your nuclear stockpiles. Otherwise, an an enemy can drop a bomb down your air chutes.
TIME Magazine has released the full, unedited transcript of its interview with Trump alongside its cover story I put in the comments. I had to take several breaks to get through it, it's bad, really bad, because it's our President. If you've ever visited a loved one in a Memory Care facility you'd know the residents can give hours long dissertations without saying anything of substance, long strings of filterless free association that could lead anywhere. While Trump has always been a narcissist and a con man, he was also an effective communicator, you can't pull a successful con without that skill. What we see in this interview seems to be truly disturbing and we need to face it together as a nation and do something about it. Please take the time to read.

Bolivia’s attorney general arrested a Trump ally for attempted murder and subsequently charged him with drug trafficking as the surviving girlfriend laid out the details of his criminal enterprise.
The Bolivian govt — under the orders of the U.S., if this post from Rubio is any indication — responded by arresting the AG and turning him over to the U.S.
Corruption on a staggering scale, in order to protect a hemispheric wide drug trafficking operation — all while the U.S. blows up fishing boats in the name of the drug war.
@WhiteHouse Fun fact:
The "alpha" trope originates from a study about wolf pack dynamics.
The author retracted the study after realizing these dynamics apply only to wolves in captivity. Wolves in the wild behave completely differently.
TL;dr: that sign says CAGED DOG.
I'm worried Americans are becoming numb to this.
A few years ago, Tim Walz said, “There’s no guarantee to free speech on misinformation or hate speech.” When the remark resurfaced, it rightly drew days — weeks! — of criticism and outrage because it was flatly wrong.
Now, it seems like every day someone in the Trump administration says something similarly at odds with free speech principles, and in many quarters it’s simply accepted that the administration will say these things.
Pam Bondi said the DOJ would “absolutely target” and “go after” people for hate speech.
Todd Blanche said "misinformation" and "one-sided" news can be a "national security issue" that the American people shouldn't have to put up with.
Trump said there’s something wrong with a country that “can allow people to write purposely negative stories.”
And now Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth says “partisan activism” that “smears the troops” is “treason” — whatever that means.
Treason is the only crime the Constitution itself defines, and criticism of the military isn’t it!
