@AdamArchuleta I've never heard of the music "coach" or math teacher personally recruiting kids from the public school like happens all the time in athletics. Kids and parents are free to choose whatever they want, but the active and aggressive recruiting is distasteful at the high school level
@RBuckeyeOSUFan Michigan's claim of 12 National Titles is shaky, only 10 are NCAA recognized. Any title claims prior to the AP poll in 1936 are very arbitrary. Michigan only has 3 National Titles since the AP poll started, Ohio State has 9, though 2 of them are illegitimate (1961 and 1970).
@DarkoStateNews I still contend that if the game was in Ann Arbor and not East Lansing MSU likely cancels. Probably too much pressure to lose the #1 ticket revenue game of the season.
@HorsemenPod They won't be amazing games anymore in a 24 team playoff. They'll just be fun games between two Big brands, with both of them likely making the playoffs.
@GrahamCoffeyDC Your last line is a complete lie. Just last season the following SEC teams only played 9 P4 teams in the regular season: Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss, A&M, Oklahoma, Vandy, Mizzou, Tennessee, LSU, Kentucky, Auburn, MSU, Arkansas. 13 of 16 teams did not play 10 P4 teams.
@ScottDowney10@3YearLetterman Not true at all. Bama got to play Vanderbilt and Mississippi State as 2 of their 6 games almost every year. 2 of the worst 3 teams in the conference during that period.
@Vern_Funquist Just one example. Maryland started the season 5-0 in 2023 and were never ranked. Their closest game in those 5 was an 18 point win. I'm too lazy to check, but I imagine it's been a while since a 5-0 SEC team wasn't ranked.
@Clemson_Addict Bama in 1973 may not be the most fraudulent, but it is the most pathetic. They lost a 1 vs 3 matchup vs true national champion Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl and yet still claim a National Title.
@CoachD178 Us fans of Big Ten teams certainly aren't in favor of it. Between Warren and now Pettiti the Big Ten whiffed badly on their last two commissioner hires.
@unaveragefan He has won it twice. His point is valid. The rivalry was much better when the winner got a trip to Pasadena compared to a trip to Indianapolis. Conference Championships have been nothing but a money grab their entire existence.
@finkn23 Agreed. Celebrate the pennant, the division title, the 14 wins in a row, the Naquin walk off inside the parker, etc. It was an awesome season worthy of celebration. But don't celebrate a moment from one of the most painful losses in sports history.
@ByuSome BYU has a legitimate beef. The problem isn't that there are "only" 12 teams. The problem is the committee. In no world should a 13 person committee be in charge of the sport. The solution to this problem is not expanding to 24 where there will be even more bubble controversy.
@TBM_Steve We all have to acknowledge that there is a number where the scales tip. Most sports leagues don't realize they've gone too far with playoff expansion until they've gone too far. Nobody knows where exactly too many is, but once you hit it it's too late.
@FightOnRusty@GoPSUsports Unfortunately, I don't think Ohio State is much better. We'll see what they charge USC fans when they come our way in 2027. Have fun in Happy Valley this year. Absolutely incredible atmosphere. I'm bummed Ohio State will not be playing Penn State this year, first time since 1992.
@geoffschwartz Not to be Mr Technical but USC has made the Cotton Bowl twice, and won the Rose Bowl. Making a NY6 Bowl was an accomplishment in the 4 team playoff era. Your general point still stands.
