Mshini came on, and that midfield immediately looked better. Zwane looked sharp with his passing once again✅️

◇ He was able to hold onto the ball a bit longer and open up a few attacking options from midfield, something we haven't been doing since the season started in that midfield. They tried to press him but failed.

◇ There are some patterns he was creating that needed a Matlou or Sirino to complete. With Zwane just behind him, they had a few good moments in combination plays. They got nothing from Maart, but their contribution should not be undermined. I thought coach Nabi will drop Blom at HT and bring in Mshini instead of Maart.

◇ Mshini showed hunger. At some point, he was saying "calm down" to his teammates using his hands. He moved from left to right, combining with Mmodi and Vilakazi on both flanks. He dropped deep, and his understanding with Zwane was natural.

◇ In that midfield, only 2 players showed some quality today. Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Samkelo Zwane. My boy Shabalala just missed Sirino the grootman, but as spectators, we should be able to see when players are making a difference without forcing these negative narratives on these guys.

◇ I love Blom, but he was not fully in this game. He seemed reserved while Zwane was throwing tackles and blocking passing lanes.

After today, surely coach Nabi has another thing to think about in that midfield. Mshini as the orchestrator with Blom or Zwane at 6. Zwane is getting better defensively, and his lack of involvement sometimes makes him seem lazy but with a clear profile like Mshini in that 8 role, he will be more involved because we will have better ball retention and circulation in midfield.

With Mshini, Zwane was forever available for a pass, a promising duo tactically. The boys are not backing down. They want to be part of this team.
