Speaking about the deep contradictions in human nature, Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada said:
“Some people dream of having a swimming pool at home, while those who have one barely use it. Those who have lost a loved one feel a profound sense of loss, while others often complain about the relatives still in their lives. Those without a partner long for one, while those who have a partner often fail to appreciate them. The hungry would give anything for a meal, while the full complain about the taste of their food. Those without a car dream of owning one, while those who have a car are always looking for a better one.
The key to happiness is gratitude—to truly see and value what we already have, and to understand that somewhere, someone would give everything for what we take for granted.”
Back in secondary school, I was very poor in Mathematics.
During exams, my score was always between 2% and 8% 😭
Our results were announced from the lowest to the highest, so I was always either the first or second person to be called… followed immediately by flogging 😩
One day, Maths results were being announced.
To my surprise, my name was not called early.
The teacher reached 30%… 40%… 50%… 60%… 70%
Still no me 😳
The whole class started looking at me
me, wetin dey happen
how you take pass this exam
I just smiled calmly and said
Na God oo 😌🙏
When the teacher reached 80%, I was already smiling like a generator wey just get fuel 🤭
At 90%, only one paper remained 😭
At that moment I asked myself
Wait… could it be that I scored 90% in Maths 😳
My heart was beating like a NEPA transformer⚡
The whole class was silent.
Everyone was staring at me.
Miracle loading 🙏
Then the teacher cleared his throat and said
One idị̀ọ̀t did not write her name on her paper… and she scored zero 😭😭😭
I fainted immediately.
Nobody should wake me 😐🤣
Positions 9-18 are only separated by four points in LALIGA. You could drop points one weekend and all of a sudden be fighting relegation. The stretch run will be fun 🍿
Apologize when you're wrong. You're too young to be losing genuine people because of pride. Stop thinking everyone is replaceable and stop searching for quotes to defend your stupidity.
I had a friend who used to call me at 4am crying about her boyfriend. I’d wake up, listen, let her vent, and then go back to sleep, more than once. One night I couldn’t sleep, so I thought I’d return the favor and called her at 4am. She answered and told me she was sleeping, & I should call back tomorrow. Moral of the story: always remember that energy you give isn’t always going to be reciprocated—set your boundaries, even with “friends.”
Meekness is a character, a personality, a calmness of the spirit that puts you in the right position to be able to inherit the earth.
It is a mild inherent character that positions you to hear the language of the earth, and when you can do that you will see that this earth that we thought belonged to us all, is actually an inheritance set aside for the meek.
