From Driving Autos to Exploring AI: A Bengaluru Driver's ChatGPT Story
Casual chat with the driver, and somewhere along the way he mentions he uses ChatGPT. That set off this fun, easy back-and-forth, both of us just sharing how we use it, what it can do, little things we’d each discovered. What stayed with me was his face. The pure delight of finding out what technology can actually do for you, not in a “this will disrupt your industry” way, just in a simple, human “oh wow, it can do that?” way. That kind of joy is rare to see, and rarer still to catch on camera. Oh, and he mentioned he wants to write a book on astrology soon. No surprises there, the man clearly has stories to tell. It was just a wonderful conversation. His energy says more than I ever could.

India's Silicon Valley or India's Biggest Infrastructure Failure? IT Employees Forced to Hitch Rides on Trucks After Yet Another Metro Breakdown
Bengaluru proudly calls itself India's Silicon Valley, a global technology hub that powers innovation, startups, and multinational corporations. But beneath the glossy image lies a harsh reality—one Metro disruption is enough to bring the entire city to its knees.
After yet another Namma Metro breakdown, thousands of commuters were left stranded. Cabs disappeared, autos refused rides, and public transport alternatives proved inadequate. The result? IT employees, who spend years building world-class technology and contribute heavily through taxes, were forced to hitch rides on trucks and lorries just to get home.
Imagine the irony. A city that talks about AI, smart mobility, electric vehicles, and futuristic transport solutions cannot guarantee a basic and reliable commute for its citizens. Bengaluru's professionals are helping build products used across the world, yet they are left standing helpless on roads waiting for any vehicle willing to take them home.
The real question is: where are all the taxes, fares, and infrastructure investments going? Why does a single Metro disruption create a city-wide crisis? Why are citizens repeatedly expected to tolerate failures that would be unacceptable in any genuinely world-class city?
Namma Metro breaks down. Cabs vanish. Autos refuse rides. Citizens suffer. Authorities issue explanations. Then the cycle repeats.
Forget Hyperloop and futuristic transportation. Bengaluru has pioneered something even more revolutionary: Truck-as-a-Service for daily commuters. If this is the condition of India's most celebrated tech city, one can only imagine the state of urban governance elsewhere. Bengaluru may have first-world talent and first-world ambitions, but its infrastructure continues to expose a deeply uncomfortable truth.
