Today in Cheap Trick history: 11 June – (2001) Tonight was the first of a 3-night “album show” run at The Garage, London. The debut “Cheap Trick” album was performed in its entirety. Seven further songs followed, including “Fan Club”, two impromptu verses of “Who d’King” (during a short technical break), “I Can’t Take It” and “Voices”.
Today in Cheap Trick history: 2 May – (1998) Cheap Trick performed the entire “In Color” album at The Metro in Chicago. This was the third of the famed four night run of album shows at this venue. The evening saw Chicago’s worst-kept secret – the Smashing Pumpkins opened the show, and Billy Corgan, D’Arcy Wretsky and Kenny Aronoff all made appearances later during Cheap Trick’s set, most notably Corgan who was dressed as a Rick lookalike. “Mandocello” with Corgan can be heard on the “Music For Hangovers” album.
