The most meaningful awards are the ones you never campaigned for.

During the University of Ghana Medical School’s 60th anniversary celebration, my class selected me as the recipient of the Alumni Impact Award.

└► I didn’t campaign for it.
└► I wasn’t chasing recognition.
└► I genuinely didn’t see it coming.

And that’s what made it hit harder.

Because this wasn’t feedback from strangers.

It was affirmation from peers who know the full story.

My class is stacked.

Brilliant clinicians. Entrepreneurs. Leaders.

So this wasn’t just “an award.”

It was a signal.

└► People were watching my work when I assumed no one was.

A few lessons that stayed with me:

➜ ① A rough start does not dictate the ending

Your past is context. It is not a ceiling.

➜ ② Excellence travels further than you think

You never know who is watching.
Or who your consistency is giving courage to.

➜ ③ Recognition usually arrives late

Not because the work wasn’t seen… but because impact takes time to compound.

So if you’re in a season where the work feels quiet…

└► Keep delivering with integrity.

One day, without warning, you’ll realize:

People were paying attention all along.
