I think it was obviously wrong, especially considering what BTS have always presented themselves as standing for. Attending may not mean they endorse everything cb has done, but it still publicly supports a man with a documented history of violence against women.

What doesn’t make sense to me is what led them to make that choice. Either they knew about his history and deliberately attended anyway, or there is a possibility they weren’t fully aware of it or had forgotten / even another reason. I honestly don’t know, and none of us can claim to know for certain.

Regardless of their intentions, attending was still a conscious choice and it is fair for people to question it.

Men like cb are repeatedly allowed to keep their careers, audiences, and industry support after harming women, while women can have their careers destroyed for far less.

I think that is what the conversation should focus on more… how the industry and the public continue to protect, platform, and celebrate men like cb despite what they have done. Namjoon and Hobi’s decision deserves criticism, but this wider issue should not get lost in the conversation.

I don’t think BTS should be cancelled, but people are completely justified in holding them accountable for choosing to attend.
