I kept getting blindsided by โfamily-friendlyโ movies and shows with my four kids so I built VOID.
My wife and I would carefully research and pre-watch things, but noticed that even once harmless shows like DuckTales and Peppa Pig started slipping in ideas that simply do not belong in media targeting kids.
Rotten Tomatoes and Common Sense Media shows glowing reviews and age-ratings, but they don't tell you the ideological messaging within.
This is why I built something that actually shows you whatโs really in the media you watch or read.
Point your phone at any poster, DVD, or book cover. In seconds it scans and gives you a clear score plus a full breakdown of the ideological messaging and creator agendas. All research is pulled directly from scripts, casting, interviews, and real data. No opinions. Just facts.
Itโs live now on Google Play.
iOS is in closed testing and launching soon.
I am currently testing my VOID Media Scanning app, and I am looking for popular movies, tv shows, and books that focus on black/asian/native American stories and experiences. Please send suggestions my way!
... and this time, I will showcase my digital media experience as I have decades' worth. ๐

Well, it is a New Year! I hope everyone had a relaxing end to 2024.
I figured the top of 2025 would be a great time to update you in regards to my funding application.

I learned that it was unfortunately denied, but the good news is that I was told that the project is...
I just heard that the application for the funding I requested from the CMF typically takes 2.5 - 3 months for a decision to be reached.
I submitted about a month ago, so we all should know if the project has been accepted in 1 - 2 months time!
I think our application is strong!
They said I, or basically the team, appeared to not have at least a year's experience in digital media, and that was why I was denied!!!
Project Piscium, the Aimless Fish Dynasty's Treasure Hunting Game, was given the green light. ๐๐ช
So I was invited to reapply this year ...

We just applied for funding from the Canada Media Fund to help complete our proof of concept for our game!
This funding will help Kenley focus on the playable proof of concept treasure hunting & collecting game. If we are accepted, the game will be in your hands this year!

I'm just here, late at night, filling out and submitting applications for government funding so we can get a little boost over a technological and financial hump.
I am working on making it to Veecon 2024, and I will hide another Treasure Chest that will be BIGGER AND BADDER in all possible ways.
My goal is to get enough sponsors for the 3rd Veecon to make the Treasure Chest Hunt larger and more exciting than the Minneapolis one!
@veecon
An update๐งต... I will not be hiding a physical Treasure Chest during this years Veecon in Indianapolis.
Unfortunately, I couldn't swing it due to personal matters and am not able to attend Veecon this year.
That being said...
