I thought this is required by European Directive regardless of political party
There is deep concern in the Irish retrofit industry that imminent changes to Part L of the building regulations could decimate the market for external insulation.

Is this what it’s come to. Arresting a 91 year old man with a walking stick who wants to save the planet for its children. This is heartbreaking to watch
What could Ireland look like in 2050 if we take #climateaction now? Our artist @mrgabrielmarque is busy bringing the future to life in #GovVillage at #Ploughing19
First #Passivhaus Plus building in Scotland: 551 West Whins, Findhorn. A big well done to @EcoarcYeats, @AR_Clarke, @edeninsulation and of course Jan Ford, the owner! Great example of simple, effective low energy building.
Minister @RichardbrutonTD has issued statement on deep retrofit pilot scheme and has announced details of new retrofit delivery model to replace pilot scheme. @Dept_CCAE https://t.co/7iPLhIShSC
350 homes retrofitted on SEAI deep retrofit scheme in 3 years from 2017 - 2019 an average of just over 2 homes per week. Paris agreement target 1.6m existing Irish homes to be retrofit by 2050, which equates to 992 per week for next 31 years!! disgraceful @SEAI_ie#deepretrofit
We've been doing some digging on the @SEAI_ie deep retrofit pilot scheme over the last week - for our next issue - and the numbers don't seem to add up. Here's what we have so far. (Thread)
@boucherhayes @SEAI_ie This is a scandal the way it was handled. Contractors were in the dark making promises in good faith they assumed they could keep. This scheme was also giving a vital boost to upskilling building staff and promoting proper building techniques. Now it's a dumbed down paper trail.
So @SEAI_ie have suspended deep retrofit scheme and told contractors to "manage expectations with your customers". Is this what @finegael means by #climate action? We're in a #ClimateEmergency and the Government must up their game
An important step. But as a society and an economy we collectively need to rapidly move beyond just words.
Ireland is second country to declare #ClimateEmergency. #YourEnergyMatters#ActOnClimate
