Pleased that, following my intervention in Parliament on proposed steel tariff changes affecting businesses like The Amodil Group in Cleobury Mortimer, the Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Peter Kyle MP, has agreed to look into the matter personally.
Great to meet Jo Williams from the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust (SaTH) to discuss healthcare in Ludlow and across South Shropshire.
Also met Friends of Ludlow Hospital to hear about their vital work supporting patients.
Every life matters.
One law. One standard. For everyone.
This is about justice, for Henry, for his family and for all our children. They deserve better.
Identity politics divides our country whoever is doing it.
The Conservative Party rejects it.
We believe in universalism and equality under the law. We must not treat people differently on the basis of skin colour. We have to build faith and trust in our institutions.
If there is one thing that should come from Henry’s death, it is that we make things better, so that this does not happen to any of our boys again.
That is what I am committed to.
I do not want his death to be in vain.
Let’s do this for Henry. Let’s get this right.
How many more questions before honesty and integrity return to government?
The so-called “Mandelson files” (1,500+ pages) raise serious concerns over judgement and the “looking to raise taxes to fund benefits” messages linked to Peter Mandelson.
What do you think?
Visited Parkhouse Nursing Home in Kinlet to meet staff and residents, see the outstanding care being provided for people with dementia and complex needs, and discuss the ongoing review of Health & Social Care in South Shropshire.
Thank you to everyone for all that you do.

They are no longer the Labour Party, they are the Welfare Party. It doesn’t matter who is in charge of these people, the party for Benefits Street will tax us all into poverty to pay for more welfare.
Pat McFadden has said in private what he and the Prime Minister deny in public. As I’ve said repeatedly, Labour MPs don’t understand where money comes from. They think our taxes are their money to spend, rather than the result of the hard work of the people in our country who deserve so much better.
The Conservative party is the only party holding Labour to account, as Reform, Lib Dems the SNP and others join Labour in demanding the state pay more and more benefits.
Should we be building on flood plains?
Nearly 840,000 homes in England face surface-water flood risk (3x since 2018). Around 1 in 9 homes are in higher-risk areas.
Damage, rising insurance costs, and overwhelmed drainage systems are already hitting families.
GCAP is the RAF’s core project for replacing the Typhoon fighter - but it’s now in serious doubt. If the in service date is shifted from 2035 to the late 2030s, as reported in the @Telegraph, Labour would be kicking the project - & crucially, how to fund it - into the long grass.
Incredibly, 90% of the new Labour MPs at the last election came from a trade union, charity or public-sector background. Barely 1/5th of the Cabinet has any private-sector experience. In the Shadow Cabinet, 3/4 of us do. That distinction matters.
The skills Labour MPs have acquired are in lobbying for more funding, campaigning for more benefits or more red tape. Britain needs a new generation of politician.
Only the Conservative Party can build a team for the economic war effort required after Burnham/Starmer have finished this catastrophic experiment. We will need to fix every aspect of our system at once. There will be no kicking decisions into the long grass, only rolling our sleeves up and getting to work.
If you've ever thought about a career in politics but decided it was too risky or you wouldn’t fit in, now is your time.…We are looking for people from every walk of life who know how to get stuff done.
In return, I will make politics work for you.
Britain does not lack talent. It lacks a system that draws that talent into public life. Join my team and help us get Britain working again.
