Miss 10: Because your joke wasn’t any good.
@SensibleCrow@7AFL Yep a horrible look. So many instances of the umps just seeming to want to insert themselves or just be feeling like paying something.
@m_Mattner@FOXFOOTY There’s only one best angle for that kind of event: Being right by the goal post and looking up. As was the umpire.
It was just really, really blatant meddling and given the other dubious, directly-score-affecting and all-anti-Crows decisions on the night - trust-eroding.
@tommorris32@7AFL@1116sen Most other sports now have team-called reviews that vastly improve fairness - and make corruption of officials difficult to the point of not being worth it. This in turn takes the suspicion of corruption away - where it’s merely incompetence.
@tommorris32@7AFL@1116sen Please push them on this. See the footage - the goal up is right by the post, looking up. Perfect angle as opposed to the ARC’s “Looking at it from this angle…”. Utter clowns. In such an excellent sport the officiating is a huge outlier. Screaming for reform.
@DSBurtenshaw Worth an investigation. Goal ump right by the post looking up calls it a clear goal. He must have indicated to the field ump no score review needed. Then the ARC “Looking at it from this angle…” - a better angle than the goal ump’s absolutely ideal one?! Plus the other calls 🤯
@AFL@kanecornes@sportsbetcomau “Siding with”?! We just want you to do something about the game-ruining officiating. Off the charts last night. In what otherwise is a sensational product, umpiring is a massive outlier. One openly rotting ingredient in otherwise gourmet food. Do something maybe?
@hasumpstuffedup Among a collection of calls that were ridiculously appalling. Root and branch reform needed because it IS ruining the game. I was at the ground and the fans just irate. We pay a lot of money and week after week the umpiring spoils it to the point of being disgraceful.
@BigFootyCROWS It’s not an integrity issue imo - it’s unconscious bias that affects tiny moments when it’s 50/50 whether to call a free or not. Within a single game it rarely shows enough to be certain of. But thanks for doing this because it shows up in the metadata. Fans notice over time.
