Been working on a real estate deal for a while.
Yesterday I was told something was going to take 3-5 days to turn around.
I asked why? Answer: Because that's how long it usually takes.
Then I asked: What would happen if you called them and told them you need it tomorrow?
My attorney said she'd try. So she did. And what do you know? They said they could turn it around in a day.
Yet another reminder that the first answer is just a placeholder for "usually". If you settle for that, that's what you'll get. But there's another option on offer: The option you want. And if you don't ask, you don't get. And if you don't do, it won't be done.
Everything can be compressed.
DuckTales premiered 39 years ago today.
I loved that show. Not for the gold. For the idea that adventure meant going somewhere wild with people you love.
It was Indiana Jones for kids.
Nobody's making the movie, so I made the trailer. Sound on. 🦆
@heyimgustavo Nice!
We did something similar in our website https://t.co/tKGj42fybS recently. Static FAQs as prompt chips and an open ended input to ask anything.

Depth-aware light injection in TypeGPU
I got a 448x448 monocular depth model down to ~8 ms on my M4 Pro across ~250 dispatches, which is fast enough to use in realtime :D
Since the inference is written directly in TypeGPU, I can just feed the depth buffer straight into the lighting pass. It never has to leave the GPU or go through any extra synchronization/interop step
Inference, lighting and draw all go through the same command encoder.
1979: fasting glucose over 140 makes you diabetic.
1997: lowered to 126.
Millions of new diabetics. Same blood.
1997: prediabetes starts at 110.
2003: lowered to 100.
A third of American adults, created by a footnote.
1984: high blood pressure is 160/95.
2017: lowered to 130/80.
American hypertension goes from 32 per cent of adults to 46. Thirty-one million new patients in a morning.
2001: the cholesterol target is 130.
2004: lowered to 100, and to 70 for the high risk.
Statin eligibility expands by millions.
Eight of the nine men who wrote that 2004 update were on the payroll of companies selling statins. They disclosed it only when forced.
1994: a WHO panel invents osteopenia. Bone that is not thin enough to break, given a name and a prescription. Half of older women qualify.
Nobody got sicker on any of those dates. A committee sat down and a number moved.
The threshold drops, the market widens, and the drug is already licensed and sitting in the warehouse.
Your grandfather was healthy at 145/92. You are ill at 132/81.
Nothing about the body has changed. Only the paperwork, and who profits from it.
Bengaluru just made weather history! 🥵The city recorded its hottest July day ever at 33.6°C. This officially breaks a century-old record from 112 years ago (33.3°C in July 1914).
Few understand this, and the leaders who do, they lead better and decide better.

Had switched from @Paytm to @CRED_club upi about a year ago and it’d been great till I discovered today that you can’t export UPI transactions on Cred.
The customer support confirmed this isn’t possible even as a special request.
Sad. Have to switch again.
Lots of people asked how I used Fable to edit its own launch video so I made a video about that!
TLDR it wrote a lot of code & tool calls to use transcription services, ffmpeg, do colorgrading, use the figma mcp, make remotion UI and render it.
I didn't touch a video editor.
The most harmful misconception among product people is believing they have to choose between moving fast and making good product decisions.
Good product decisions don’t actually take more time, they take more skill.
Like how Magnus Carlsen sees the best chess move in a few seconds, a move we wouldn’t find even if we had a whole week.
