THE ADULTING ILLUSION: WHY YOUR 20S AND 30S FEEL LIKE A TRAP (AND HOW TO BREAK FREE)
We were sold a dream that looked like a straight line.
Go to school, get the degree, find the "stable" job, and suddenly, life would make sense. But for most of us, hitting our 20s and 30s felt less like an arrival and more like being dropped in the middle of a forest without a map.
We call it "Adulting," but let’s be honest: it’s a survival game played in expensive suits and behind filtered Instagram stories.
The Three Silent Struggles
In building Ashipa The Storyteller, I’ve spent months dissecting why so many "successful" people feel like they are failing. It usually comes down to three lies we’ve accepted as truth:
1. The "Arrived" Fallacy
We think there is a destination where the stress stops. There isn't. Growth is just a series of better problems. If you’re waiting for "peace" to start your dream, you’ll be waiting forever.
2. The Comparison Curse
We compare our "behind-the-scenes" footage with everyone else’s "highlight reel." On X, everyone is a CEO; on LinkedIn, everyone is "humbled and honored." In reality, most people are one bad month away from a breakdown.
3. The Silence Debt
We stop talking about the things that matter mental health, financial fear, and the loneliness of ambitionto maintain an image. This "silence debt" eventually has to be paid, usually in the form of burnout or a mid-life crisis.
WHY "ASHIPA" MATTERS NOW
I didn’t want to launch a podcast that just added to the noise. I wanted to build a home for the truth.
Since late last year, I’ve been stripping away the filters. I realized that "Enlightenment" isn't about knowing all the answers; it’s about having the courage to ask the uncomfortable questions.
Between now and our full launch in September 2026, this space will be the training ground. We are going to talk about the lessons textbooks were too afraid to print. We’re going to document the struggle of building something from nothing not after I’ve "made it," but right now, while I’m in the trenches with you.
The "Ashipa" journey isn’t a solo mission. It’s for the deep thinkers, the late-night builders, and the ones who know that there has to be more to life than just "hoping for the best."
If you’re ready to stop pretending and start evolving, stay tuned. The storytelling has only just begun.
