I can’t describe how good it feels to have many of our contrarian convictions about XR play out through the Apple #VisionPro announcement.

Here are a few of the strongly held beliefs @ICastroGarcia @mauro_teran & I had @emerge_io that have been re-iterated by Apple

Importantly, we demonstrate that these effects hold across indulgent, non-indulgent, desirable, and undesirable food categories, as well as for food items both immediately & not-immediately available for consumption.

Excited to finally see the first paper of my dissertation published @JAMS_updates!

Across 2 field & 2 lab studies, @rhondahadi @AndrewTStephen & I find that viewing food items in #AR increases consumers' desire, purchase, and post-consumption enjoyment of the pictured food

[JAMS @JAMS_updates]

OPEN ACCESS: Can augmented reality (AR) increase the desirability of food items? The food and beverage industry has embraced AR technology, and new research demonstrates it can indeed increase consumer desire for, and purchase of, food items. https://t.co/yPDVKgq8FD

[Bill Fritz, PhD @_BillFritz]

We find that because #AR can visually superimpose objects onto a consumer’s real-time environment, this visual impression increases the sense of personal relevance for the depicted food items, which increases their ability to mentally simulate consuming the pictured food

Meta's new #QuestPro tracks your hands and eyes to animate avatars. Our team @Shopify wondered if the same tech could give merchants insight into shopping patterns within their store…

Could VR give retailers a fresh perspective? 🧵👇

#EmergeHome is more than just a tactile VR experience.

The quality of our relationships = the quality of our lives.

How we stay connected over distance is important.

It should also be fun.

If your perspective on VR comes from the mainstream tech media, who rely on the refrain of "Mark Zuckerberg bad" for eyeballs, you are missing the honest news on VR, which may be greatest business opportunity of our lifetime. Thread: 🧵
