@PastorBenMarsh This is true when the checks and balances decrease with the increase of the church's attendance because of personality. However, if there is a healthy, functioning elder board that keeps things in check, this isn't inevitable.
@erichoke I worked under a lead pastor at a previous church who said the exact opposite in a staff meeting: "If you're even thinking about going somewhere else, go. We don't want you here anymore." Needless to say, most "transitions" were abrupt if the XP didn't run interference.
@Seth_Troutt Love this. I often tell my children that we were never meant to know what's going on all over the world at all times. It's not healthy for us. The only one who should know everything is also the one who can do something about it, the only one who is omnipotent.
@lukedsimmons I progressively add more Christmas songs through Advent (i.e. start with one the first weekend) until Christmas Eve is 100%. I agree with the heart behind what I think you're saying, in that we still need to be engaging in worship through the month of December.
@923TheFan Consistency and stability are the mark of great franchises. Stefanski had one year (his COTY year) without major injuries or drama. He generally makes the most of what he has. It ultimately comes down to the players executing. The defense is doing it. Offense-not so much yet.
Did the @NFLOfficiating tell the chain holder to tilt the sticks back slightly? This was just one of so, so many horrific calls throughout the #Browns vs #49ers game.
Just sift through X today and find all the bad calls from across the NFL yesterday. And they wonder why fans are really starting not to trust the NFL and its officials.
With sports betting ramping up exponentially now, it begs the question just how much of each game is purposefully being influenced by the officials to promote certain outcomes. Question everything.
