AJ Brown on Christian Gonzalez:
“I’m ready to go against him so we can push each other, get in the lab together. Obviously that's good on good… Very little room for a mistake. I love going against guys like that because those are my matchups. I don’t shy away from those.”
AJ Brown on what it means to him to finally be with the #Patriots:
“It means everything… To playing for my favorite team, to being around Coach Vrabel, and being around other teammates I know. It feels great.”
AJ Brown on #Patriots QB Drake Maye:
“The talent speaks for itself. He can make any throw. But I think what’s more impressive to me is that he knows what he’s doing… He demands everybody else to know as well... He’s a true leader of men and it’s crazy to see at a young age.”
Morgan Moses was at #Patriots minicamp practice in street clothes on Thursday. A non-participant.
Here’s what the offensive line looked like one again:
LT Will Campbell
LG Alijah Vera-Tucker
C Jared Wilson
RG Mike Onwenu
RT Caleb Lomu
Practice was scheduled to go until about 2:50 but ended abruptly after Bradyn Swinson collided with Drake Maye after Maye completed a pass to AJ Brown.
Both players on the ground momentarily. Maye appears to be OK. Swinson seemed to try to explain himself in the aftermath.
A.J. Brown had two touchdowns today.
His first was awesome. He adjusted in the back left corner of the end zone, spun around and hauled in a 5-yard touchdown.
He ended practice with a touchdown on an out route.
Very animated final minicamp practice of the Patriots’ offseason workout program. Lots of red zone work.
Drake Maye: 10/20, Tommy DeVito: 5/11, Behren Morton: 3/9
TDs: A.J. Brown x2, Efton Chism, Jeremiah Webb, Maye scramble, Eli Raridon, Tanner Arkin, Kyle Williams, Jimmy Kibble, Hunter Henry
Mike Vrabel on #Patriots LT Will Campbell:
“Just maturity. I think he’s studying the game. He’s trying different things… He’s working on different sets, working on different techniques… It’s been really good to see him and Jared Wilson push that [Offensive Line] group.”
Mike Vrabel on #Patriots DT Christian Barmore:
“A very disruptive player. A player that cares a lot and a player that we have to manage… Just want to see him finish some of those plays he had in the backfield… But I think his attitude has been great. Enjoy working with him.”
Mike Vrabel on #Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez not participating in 11-on-11s:
“I think that's just something Christian and I talked about and making sure that the most important thing is that we're on the same page, which we are.”
Mike Vrabel on the #Patriots Edge Rushers:
“That's a good group. I'm excited about adding Dre'Mont Jones, the development of Elijah Ponder and Bradyn Swinson, added Jesse Luketa and some young guys... That group has done a nice job.”
Mike Vrabel on #Patriots Minicamp so far:
“I felt like there hasn’t been much complacency. I think the guys have worked. We’ve had great leadership. We added some good leaders and good pieces. We’re continuing to build and hopefully prepare for a long journey.”
