Does anyone know how I can get in contact with Microsoft Support in a way where actual humans can have eyes on my case and not AI slop?
My account/data was breached/hijacked several weeks ago now, and despite the mountain of evidence I’ve provided, all they’ve done is essentially say I have to make a new account and repurchase everything and ghosted me when I’ve tried to escalate the case.
I believe under Australian Privacy and Consumer Law, this is not an acceptable response as companies have an obligation to protect consumer data from threats such as these.
I’ve exhausted all my avenues across XBox & Microsoft support pages as it’s all AI slop and impossible to get in touch with actual human employees, so I’m not sure where else I should go to get assistance except for coming to social media or to file a claim against them with a legal body. I appreciate and understand I sadly may never retrieve my account/data now as their lack of swift support has probably let it slip away from us, but I’d at least like some form of monetary refund or compensation for this, and the peace of mind knowing my data is secure and no longer accessible by the hijackers. I imagine for one of the richest companies in the world, this should not be a problem and sometimes settling with a payment is best to ‘make the consumer stop kicking up a stink/make them satisfied’.
I suggest boycotting these companies because they won’t keep you safe and will just keep trying to take your money despite their ‘world class security systems’. I do truly hope a class action is filed against them eventually and they face large penalties for failing their obligations/duty of care, similar to cases with other companies before, as I’m sure I’m sadly not the only one this has happened to.
