Just to follow up on the last post. Wellingborough Golf Club thanks @_Charlie_Baker_ (back left in pic) for nearly 11 years of dedicated service - joined us as an apprentice & is a real loss to the Club 😢. Best of luck in Australia - you’ll be a great asset wherever you work 🇦🇺
Charlie is cutting his last fairway at WGC today as he leaves us to head to Australia where he will continue his greenkeeping career. From all the greens staff we wish him well. Goodbye and good luck ( BBB😉)
Big thanks to the greens team for turning the course out in championship condition for what will be four consecutive days (Glazerite 2 days + Club Champs 2 days). 👍👏👏👏
Good luck to everyone playing in Club Championships today. Greens cut & rolled, approaches cut, bunkers raked. Same tomorrow (Sunday). Please respect your fellow competitors - repair pitch marks & leave a bunker how you’d want to find it. Currently they all look like this!
To back up the statement of @WGCcourse of how far behind we are due to the weather I think these photos from 2 years ago do it justice. The grass/trees are a million miles away from this point
Localised, thatchy areas on fairways being raked today followed by a cut and blow. In the distance you can also see the pro core on the green. Double 6mm tines, will chip away at the greens this week. Chance of rain tomorrow 🤞,we will take anything!!
Greens seeding completed today. Crystal blue links 2g per m2 single pass but a double pass on 5,7,8,9,11,12,14. We can see these greens are behind the the others regarding bent population. Great time to seed with the poa very slow to get going.
