@UMNChemistry Ph.D. candidate in @DanHarki group. Forever screening small molecules and playing around with the random number generator (aka mass spec!).
Very excited to have this paper from my time in grad school published! Started from an unrelated project idea that lead to weird results. Working on #APOBEC3A? Your catalytic inactivation mutation may lead to unstable protein! Check out the paper below to learn why E72A > E72Q.
If you’re at #ACSFall2022 and you love drug discovery, come see me present my poster on our virtual and in vitro screening project for APOBEC3B inhibitors!
Congrats to PhD students Margaret Clapham, Brianna Collins, Mckenna Hanson, Hannah Holst, and Katherine Jones for receiving highly competitive #UMN Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships! https://t.co/stxdtVF0uo #UMNproud@UMNCSE
New lab #preprint! HLB-0532259: A chemical degrader of N-Myc that targets Aurora kinase A. Want to hear the development story in-person? @jtang162 from the #HarkiLab will present at #AACR22 today - 3:05 pm, New Orleans Theater B. @UMN_MedChem@UMNCancer

Our review (@DanHarki @HarrisLabUMN) on the current toolbox for APOBEC3 drug discovery is online now at @TrendsinPharma! So happy to see my first review paper finally out in the world! https://t.co/rsLqiWn0PS
@breakliquid This reaction was methylating a quinolone with methyl iodide! The first step in hopefully, eventually, maybe resynthesizing a screening hit.
@firouzi_nima It’s actually just a simple methylation reaction with iodomethane! The purple is the iodine byproduct, my product is in the yellow stuff.
@DanHarki No, it's the synthesis I've been working on (and failing repeatedly) for six months! The reaction I showed in group meeting this week worked, so I have to scale up to get more material to finish.
Have you ever wondered what meat you are actually eating? 🤔 Check out our new paper using the MasSpec Pen as a rapid method and easy-to-use device for meat authentication, as shown in our fun video demo! https://t.co/sOMLdJ6zmC
