Investing in an OLED monitor is probably the single most transformative thing you can do to your gaming experience outside of higher frame rates imo, it makes everything look 10x better
- I'm referring to proprietary engines, second time I'm saying this now
- UE5 games are notorious for exactly what I said.
- You're way too upset and emotional for a discussion surrounding video game graphics of all things. Calling people "twitter tards" and the like, being heavily argumentative over points I never made etc. Take a break and go outside.
@liminalMarch@Ludvicus I never said it *all* comes down to the game engine, but I also don't think Horizon Forbidden West would look anywhere close to what it looks like if it were made in Unity for example lol
@JunoNoxAstra - I'm referring to proprietary engines
- These are not buzzwords, unless you want to pretend that UE5 isn't notorious for exactly what I said

@JunoNoxAstra What am I wrong about?
You're telling me these kind of visuals wouldn't fit in perfectly with today's games? This doesn't even look that far off of the new Star Wars Galactic Racer if we're being honest lol
@Drizzy907@Ludvicus yep exactly, the engine was specifically designed with these games in mind, less overhead to worry about like with publicly outsourced engines like UE and everything can be fine tuned exactly how they want it for that specific game
@liminalMarch@Ludvicus Different engines come with different tools and the way they're utilized can make it easier or harder to make certain games look good. In the case of proprietary engines they're literally designed exclusively for specific games and the visuals they have planned for said game
@RawBraHH@Ludvicus Most games nowadays do not use baked lighting is my point. If a game is deing developed on UE5 chances are they're using dynamic lighting, real time global illumination, lumen, stuff like that
@JunoNoxAstra@Johann_Bateson the point he's trying to make is the improvements made to graphics over the years isn't great enough to justify how demanding they are compared to older titles.
Star Wars Battlefront is a 2015 game that looks better than most modern games and ran maxed out on a GTX 980.
@JunoNoxAstra I never said they looked better, but for decade+ old games they do as good of a job at capturing detailed, well lit scenes as modern UE5 games do, except without the headache of all the buggy optimization issues that come with UE games.
@JBARREXPERIENCE@Ludvicus My entire account is what? Idek what you're talking about anymore. My account is games from all eras and generations including new ones lol
