Basic financial literacy in this country is almost nonexistent. We don’t teach it in schools. It should be the second most important topic, just after literacy. People don’t understand mortgages, interest rates, compound interest, it’s bonkers this isn’t standard for all schools.

Community based athletics is what has made #TXHSFB so special for over a century! There shouldn’t be free agency in amateur sports, if your parents sell their house & move good, go where u live, if they keep residency in the old place sit for 365 while you establish new residency

General thought…. Travel sports are so focused on games / tournaments… I know tons of people who are playing baseball every weekend. It’s crazy.

I wish coaches / programs would focus more on developmental training. I do think games are important but at what cost. Is my kid getting better practicing a few times a week and playing 6 games or is he getting better grinding with Great coaches who focus more on fundamentals and care less about tournaments.

It’s so competitive now so feel like there’s a rush to join teams , etc. I’m a just a big believer hard work wins and the cream eventually always rises to the top.

One big US soccer thought: our youth development has to get more affordable. One of my kids plays travel. It’s at least $5k a year & this isn’t even super high end. We can afford it, thankfully, lots can’t. Youth sports costs in the US are out of control, soccer more than most.

@WallStreetApes Meanwhile average starting teacher pay in Texas is around $49k but we wonder why teachers are leaving this profession in record numbers… there’s no coincidence most districts are still trying to fill multiple vacancies
