How do you close the week strong? With a mile run together around campus. If I’m asking it of them, I’m going to ask of it myself as well. We do it all together.
Are you willing to do what’s right, even when it’s hard to do what’s right?
Jared is elite at his job and an even better human being. His presence and voice made high school sports better. I appreciate the work he did for our players and so many others.
Today, I received notice that my last day with the Herald-Leader will be Sept. 25 as part of a corporate-wide restructuring. I want everyone to know my time covering high school sports has been a gift. This is not goodbye. The next chapter begins soon . Let’s go
Handed this to one of my guys as they walked into the weight room today.
Coaches, make sure you’re pouring into the mind just as much as you do anything else. Challenge your guys to think and speak about things. It’s changes your conversations.

Second straight Friday morning we have been at a Lexington elementary school to encourage kids during drop off. I’m proud of my guys and their willingness to serve.
When we talk about Built for More, this is what I want it to look like. Yes, we want to build great basketball players and compete at a high level. But we also want to build young men who understand that their time matters, their actions matter, and how they impact matters.
As the head coach at FDHS, I believe our responsibility extends far beyond wins and losses. We have an opportunity to serve, inspire the next generation, and show young students what leadership, character, and kindness look like.
One of the biggest goals of our program is to make a positive impact beyond the walls of our gym. That's why I'm excited to launch Broncos at Drop Off, a new community initiative where our players will spend Friday mornings this fall greeting and encouraging elementary students.
We sent 75 kids home with a backpack of school supplies and hopefully, a love for the game of basketball. I want 150 kids next summer! I think we can do it!
I’m incredibly proud of our players for how they served this week.
My hope is that this camp continues to grow every year and that this is only the beginning of how we connect this program with the community on a level we can all be proud of.
Every camper will leave with a backpack and school supplies on the final day of camp.
Thank you to New Circle Church for the school supplies that will fill each backpack at Bronco Basketball Camp.
