@residentadviser@a_darling_tom he certainly should take the opportunity to kick Farage as hard as possible while he's down, especially if he is beaten by the bin
@WillHants100@donmcgowan Burnham's Labour MPs are openly treating our historic streets like a public lavatory while the out-of-touch metropolitan elite lecture us. If you dare complain about this absolute rot and total disrespect for working-class Britain, you’re called a bigot! It's an absolute disgrace
@ThomasBHall@watling_samuel estate/premises costs whether owned or leased by the care sector must be a big component of its cost, that probably grew an awful lot over recent decades, like residential housing cost
@proptechpioneer@kickingmustang how about they do the fairer share proposal (eliminate stamp duty and council tax, instead apply a proportionate property tax) and give landlords a 50% discount, seen as landlords usually use land values far more efficiently than owner occupiers
@proptechpioneer@TriciaHPH This govt might hike LHA to address cost of living for the hardest up tenants, but they want to see the RRA impact - they won't go for rent control. That might be upended by persistent inflation and even higher rates, which will grind everyone harder, until Trump leaves office?
@taxfraudhunter@ukhpinfo that is true.
yields vary widely across the country. gross yields can be 8% plus in some places and lower than 4% in prime areas, average being about 6 to 7%. those areas might be England (average), London and the North East. charts for those 3 would probably look very different
@proptechpioneer wait til a big company goes bust as a result of dodgy AI reliant finance managers, and the judicial system slows to a halt as judges are buried under piles of AI nonsense!
@young1economist@HistoricRecord@ukhpinfo Yes, we need a vibrant competitive private rented sector across the country, especially where the best jobs are. I suspect rental demand will not permit supply to diminish much in London, but I hear it is not economic to build right now. will land de-value as a result?
@young1economist@HistoricRecord@ukhpinfo exactly. in this respect a lot of London and the south-east is knackered as investors probably require 7.5% minimum to make it work
@getstuffedtwit@pretendgeek@rcolvile would the company not had a duty to report the criminal matter given that it was reported stolen but subsequently logged back on the network and found to be in her possession? - her employer probably reported it stolen to their provider
@ukhpinfo@DanNeidle everyone has either to buy or rent housing
or if fortunate, buy or invest in housing,
but doesn't usually make a decision to buy housing or consume stuff
@kickingmustang@JibbaJabb I heard him patronising that switched on bloke. he is a muppet on this subject. be funny if Burnham introduces an LVT to even things out across the country, I imagine the LVT for big detached houses in Chiswick will be somewhat more than the council tax payable right now
