We need privacy projects that collaborate to make one "PRIVACY SUPERAPP".
Oh, your company specializes in OPRF? Bring it on! Your implementation of FHE is better than ours? Use that instead! Do we need TEEs? Can it be exchanged to something else?
Some of the projects out there are "preaching for privacy solutions" but only of you use their solution ONLY! Like what? So you are no better than a traditional company selling stuff, and don't care about anything else than profit.
Marketing teams are glorifying one selling point and completely ignoring the drawbacks, and when someone points that out, they launch a different campaign to silence those people!
Why did this become the norm? I swear to god, sometimes I feel like I'm back in the kindergarten. True cryptographers are not biased as easily, so when someone points out a flaw in their solution, they acknowledge it, and they will say yeah, that's a compromise they made, but if you have a solution to that, I'll be more than happy to collaborate! The problem is those people are not on CT or at least not enough of them so we can spot them easily!
My other problem is that you, as a privacy focused project, can't even "sell me" your product, as a person who really want to use them. You are just regurgitate the same thing over and iver and over again, because, again, "your marketing team" doesn't understand and doesn't care. Marketing/commercials for privacy focused aolutions are now working for the masses the same way as a commercial for Coca Cola... We need a complete overhaul of the social norms, but the problem with that is the few companies who are "ruling the world" won't let that happen.
TLDR: people are greedy, and the people who could change the world are hiding, waiting to be found!
Thank you for listening to my rant.
@sqalef And you don't know until you unshield and want to withdraw... I am a privacy enthusiast, but for some reason ztrash always seemed off to me... Now I know why.
@cmsholdings People always forget that not everything goes always up only, and they make life changing decisions in this period, and when the down only period comes, everyone is hit in the face of reality
@CoinDesk@Zcash And then as I said before, where is their HQ located, and what's literally 5 minutes by walk down the street near them? And then this... untraceable and unlimited minting... And still people glorify them as the pinnacle of privacy? ๐คฃ
@hantengri ztrash... how the f*ck can you mint tokens on-chain without a trace... and everyone was glorifying them for some unknown (read lots of money for shilling) reason.
And while my feed is less saturated, I don't see the annoying "base is the best please build on base we're a multi billion dollar company but we need your money as well so we can control you also report you and flag your project as we want" messages anymore, which is a WIN! ๐
One green day after like 3 weeks --> we're so back, wen lambo etc.
And in 2 days we will have another -8-9% for no reason and everyone will cry again that it's so over... Grow up people ๐คฎ
Today we're adding the Private Yield capability to Merces.
It lets users earn yield on private balances without exposing positions, amounts, or counterparties.
In brief: Merces Private Yield is a vault contract on @Plasma testnet that holds the pooled USDT. Each user's share of that pool is held as Private Shared State, secret-shared across the TACEO Network. Yield is currently simulated at 7.5% APY for demonstration.
More broadly: With Merces you can now do confidential payments, private payments, confidential x402 transfers, and earn yield on private balances.
We made the Merces reference app so you can try out all these capabilities: https://t.co/NDYSE3Z3Yv
If you're interested in integrating Merces Private Yield into your app, see the integration docs: https://t.co/KKWqmFBaHE

Projects be like:
We're building the infra for a $100 Trillion TAM (total addressable market)
Ok so how in the everloving Kentucky fried f*ck you go bankrupt in 2-3 years with $20 million startup fundraising? ๐ค
Dude, you have no reason to be ashamed. You truly believed in a project and told the world about it. I believed in some projects as well, now a few of them doesn't even exist.
As for how the Nexus team is handling any situation and their silence, that's something that is on them.
@NexusLabs Thank you very much for the Mainnet launch, after almost a year and half hard work I didn't get enough money to buy a KFC family bucket ๐ซก
@hantengri Wow, another noname dao that probably promised the "next generation" "new era" "top of the line security" "next web4 chapter" for businesses, and now the money is gone.
@Zun2025 My only problem is that if I'm not aligned with a project, I wouldn't even join their discord/telegram for moderation. I can't even bother to read up on them when their opening line on twitter and on their website is "The next era of Perp Dex" or something similar.
