Therapist in this case finally had her disciplinary hearing last week. Ended up with a 4-month suspension, a $4000 fine and a required course in ethics and boundaries.
No news on the cat.
The saga started in September 2022, after the therapist ("Defendant" in this filed petition for disciplinary action) had been providing services to "Client A" for nearly a year. A cat ("Eve") was gifted to the client's daughter.

In September 2023, a kitten in Omaha tested positive for Eastern raccoon rabies virus. It was the westernmost detection of the variant in the U.S. to date (850 miles west of the normal range) and it led to a quick and large response by local, state and federal authorities.
