@Kendeb355 @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Thanks about my novel. The film, which I admire, changes the book's theme, which allowed for less attention paid to Teasle and a different conclusion.

@huskies714 @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Thanks for the good words about my novel. Makes me smile.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

@BlaineCrocker2 @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Thanks! I was trying to write something new. The book has been called the "father of the modern action novel." Makes me smile, given the 3 years I devoted to writing it.

@Recliningdad @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Thanks! My novel was published 10 years before the movie and has never been out of print. Seldom happens. On home video discs of the film, I have an audio commentary, comparing my novel and the film. Lots of background information.

@HashtagSpiruli Thanks!

@Hillbillyflyer @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Thanks about my novel. I admire the well-made important movie, even as it differs from my book. I recorded an audio commentary that's on many home-videoim discs, comparing them.

@Recliningdad @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Thanks! I have an audio commentary on many home-video discs of First Blood, comparing my novel and the movie. Lots of background information.

@Pritzkersgunt @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Thanks about my novel First Blood. I intended the book to mirror the divide in the US in the Vietnam era. Teasle is the equivalent of an Eisenhower Republican. Rambo is one of the disillusioned. Trautman is the System. He alone survives.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

@MichaelMangetti @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Thanks! FIRST BLOOD and BROTHERHOOD OF THE ROSE are 2 of the 4 titles that I mention to readers curious about my work. The others are CREEPERS and MURDER AS A FINE ART. FRATERNITY OF THE STONE has my favorite first chapters of anything I've written.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

@soonerblake @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Because the film shifted the focus of the characters in my novel, it was right for Rambo to survive. My novel has a different theme and requires a different conclusion.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

@GillanGeorge @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone My thanks to Jack. I admire the film of my novel FIRST BLOOD. I have an audio commentary on many home-video discs of the movie, comparing the two. You might be surprised that there's much more action in my book and much more about Teasle.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

@MatthewGrogan @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone Thanks! You might be interested in my audio commentary that's on many home-video discs of FIRST BLOOD. I compare my novel and the film and provide background details. Few authors are asked to do that.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

@DanielGerritzen Agreed.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

@Smithaz1981 @JackCarrUSA @TheSlyStallone There is indeed a link between these directors and the look of their films. Alas the stunts became more unbelievable at the same time.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

@stoicboutique @joelansdale Thanks. I loved the research, seeing the Marfa lights, recreating that area. I also received pilot training for the aerial sequences.

@CarloRampa It's a favorite. Interesting variation on the haunted house theme.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

One of my favorite movies for Halloween, THE CHANGELING, stars George C. Scott as a composer who moves into a haunted mansion in Seattle. Peter Medak directed the 1980 Canadian supernatural horror film. Great stuff.

@St__Troy @jamesmpratt That's my worry also.

[_DavidMorrell @_DavidMorrell]

The worst is coming. Over 300 movies and streaming shows have already used A.I., in some cases for writing. Soon the only things I’ll watch will be productions before this year.

@WATZUPMAG @TheSlyStallone As the author of the novel, I'm impressed by the film adaptation. Excellent work in every department. I recorded an audio commentary for home video discs, discussing how the adaptation happened.
