How I see it, @realDonaldTrump is playing chess. To pause all tariffs just as they go into effect (excl. China who retaliated), was a warning shot to others. They have 90 days to bring a reasonable, multifaceted solution. All WITHOUT having Americans feel the burden of tariffs!
Not forming an opinion/presenting a conspiracy theory here. Just pointing out a win for @Tesla. At first it was look, @realDonaldTrump screwed @elonmusk with the ending of federal EV rebates. Now, with the tariffs, Tesla is made DOMESTICALLY in most markets where they’re sold!🤔
Trump’s new tariffs aren’t a trade tweak—they’re the first move in a full-spectrum reset.
$9.2T in debt matures in 2025. Inflation lingers. Alliances are shifting.
One announcement just set a dozen wheels in motion.
Here’s what’s really happening—and why it matters 🧵
tariffs are not about economics. they are about narrative control.
america’s economy is no longer controlled by politicians. it is controlled by the fed, corporate lobbyists, and a global financial system that operates beyond national borders. real power is in interest rates, liquidity flows, and capital markets…not import taxes. so why does trump push tariffs like they are the nuclear launch codes of economic warfare
because tariffs are visible. they are a blunt instrument. they give people a villain (china) and a hero (america). they create a simple, patriotic story where the bad guys get punished and the good guys bring back jobs. this is not an economic policy. it is a cinematic script for the working class, a tangible way to make the invisible forces crushing them feel like they have an enemy they can fight
but the globalist argument is just as theatrical. free trade has never been free. it was designed to maximize corporate profits, not national prosperity. the system was rigged from the start. cheap goods flooded america, but so did layoffs. entire industries vanished. real wages stagnated. the globalist dream turned out to be a shareholder utopia at the expense of the american worker
so both sides push a narrative while the real game plays out in the shadows. tariffs won’t bring back the 1950s manufacturing boom, just like globalization never delivered on its promise of universal wealth. the truth is neither side wants you to see who actually controls the system….because then you might stop arguing about trade policy and start asking real questions about who owns the economy itself
How the $SPY / $SPX responded to Tariffs In 2018
- January tariffs are announced, markets drop⬇️
- Short relief period📈
- March, tariffs are imposed, markets drop again⬇️
- Relief begins in April, tariffs calm, markets consolidate into May, then run hot⬆️

@NewscastStream@realestatedude0 @andremessina_ Who in their right mind would want to OWN a depreciating asset? Pay tax on the full value, worry about trade in value etc etc. Instead, you lease it and drop it off at lease end and start over. The idea of owning a car for 10 years to make the money make sense is pointless.
