Call it a millennial crisis if you want...
But in my 30's, I realized I don't actually want the life I worked so hard for. I don't care about titles. I don't care about climbing anyone else's ladder. I care about time. I care about slow mornings. I care about peace.I care about bare feet at the beach with nowhere to be.
I still want to make money... just not at the cost of my life.
Solar eclipse. Meteor shower. New moon. Planetary alignment. If your nervous system feels like it's shedding three lifetimes... let it.
The old timeline is done.
there is something deeply frightening in the simplicity of the regrets people realize in their old age, where most of what they regret is just two or three actions away from living a completely different life.
Apply for jobs, apply for scholarships, apply to further your studies. Go to the interviews, complete the assessments, do it for the plot. Opportunities favor those in motion.
no one talks about how draining it is when ur mood is constantly switching between "it's okay, i don't care, i'll be okay" and "i don't know how much more i can take"
I highly recommend having hobbies cause it distracts you from falling in love unnecessarily, and I have an explanation. An ideal mind always mistakes loneliness with love, but busy minds have standards, because when most of your days are filled with things like lifting, creating, reading, learning things like that, you stop chasing people for excitement, because we have a really bad habit of romanticizing every bit of attention that we get. Even if it was not not directed at us with the same intensity of intention, most of the time you are simply wanting something to do.Instead of the feel that you're confusing with wanting. And I strongly believe that best relationships are built when two complete lives meet instead of two bored people who try to become each other's hobby, the interdependence in that situation would create the pressure which finally would become the reason for the eventual breakdown.
I was today years old when I found out that there is a difference between
"depression" and "languishing"
Languishing is a state whereby you feel empty and stagnated. Empty in a way you can't properly explain. Nothing is necessarily wrong...but nothing feels that right either.
It is the state or void between depression and flourishing. You are functioning alright, just without excitement, purpose or momentum. I mean you have energy to perform your daily tasks and expectations, but life feels muted and uninspiring.
So maybe you are not depressed, you are just languishing.
