Castlevania: Dracula X (1995): Abysmal dogshit. Its issues are so far removed from comparisons to Rondo, the i-frames lasting as long as your knockback and the boxes they put you in with those pink spear guys made this so unpleasant to get through
Truly awful Dracula fight too
Castlevania: Bloodlines (1994): Technically I played Vampire Killer but whatever. A surprisingly refreshing game that was brisk enough for me to get through twice in one sitting. I could see myself coming back to this one when I've got 90 minutes to kill
I ended up having to change the tilt controls btw, rotating the stick was fun until I wanted to hover in the Landmaster
Also turned off rumble for Venom, I couldn't steer properly while fighting against it
And the "obscure" hidden tiles were surprisingly intuitive too. I found a few of the necessary ones and realised there were indirect hints to them in other areas, effectively doubling your chance of finding out that something's up
