The message of salvation (the gospel) is simple, and requires no performance from your part. It requires you to trust in the performance of the savior. What we see now is people trying to “perform”. Drop all the weights and pressure at the feet of him who has done it all.
This Easter, I invite you to look at Jesus, consider what he said and did, and ask for yourself what I believe is the most important question you will ever answer: Did he really leave behind an empty tomb? And if he did, what does that mean for you?

JESUS IS RISEN!
He died, so we can live forever. We will never know death because of what he has done, and because he rose from death, we were also raised to life to sit in heavenly places with him.
No longer bound, no longer slaves.

But we only get to say this if we accept the work he did (His birth, death and resurrection). So today we celebrate the work that brought us redemption and gave us a new life. A new nature which is righteousness has been implanted in us by this work, and now we have eternal life.
