Here’s a piece of unsolicited advice for Men with money entering relationships:

A lot of your relationships fail because you started with an unsustainable version of you. Sometimes when we love someone, we try to secure that love through too much effort, attention, gifts, or availability too early.

“You can kill a new plant by watering it too much.”

The problem with doing too much too early is that your initial effort becomes the standard. A relationship that starts at 100 has nowhere natural to grow.

When you give too much too early, the relationship skips the stage where you 2 gradually learn to love each other in a realistic way. Your effort becomes your identity in the relationship.

So when you reduce that effort later, it feels like less love to the other person whereas you’re just dealing with life.

When you have money, it’s tempting to do too much too early. But it’s usually a bad idea even if you can afford it.

The biggest failure of my Nigerian parents' generation was their complete inability to pass on any ideas or ideology of subtance to their children.

The ONLY thing they taught their children was "Jesus" and "Muhammad". And those unfortunate children have grown up with Christianity and Islam making up their entire personality. They have nothing else upstairs.

Ask the people from that empty-headed generation any question that requires actual thinking or philosophy, and watch how intellectually empty their reply is.

"How can I succeed in life?"

An entire generation of olodos who raised even worse dummies than them, but somehow all believe that they did the world a favour by birthing children they had nothing intellectual to pass on to. Everyone else in the world who couldn't pass on economic capital to their children could at least pass on intellectual and moral capital.

All that these cemetery-evading dumbos passed on to us was "Fear God, pray, develop a neurotic obsession with your sex organs and everything that has to do with them, pray, and fear God some more." This is the inheritance we were supposed to build into our competitive advantage in a world where serious people live?

Your mothers, mothers-in-law, and aunties…your female family members…are supposed to help you through postpartum. That is why women historically had communities.

Postpartum care was never meant to be handled by a woman alone or placed entirely on the man.

This support system existed for a reason, and ignoring it while blaming men for not knowing what they have never experienced makes no sense.

Postpartum is new to both the woman and the man. Yet men are blamed for not knowing how to handle something they have never experienced and were never biologically meant to experience. Men are not women, and they are not doctors.

Expecting men to fully understand periods, hormonal changes, and postpartum recovery is unrealistic. This mindset…placing every emotional and physical struggle on men to fix…is one reason marriages fail.

Support does not mean total responsibility. When men are expected to know everything about a woman’s body, resentment grows and relationships break down.
