Earlier this week we signed for AMD Developer Hackathon hosted by @AIatAMD on @lablabai.

After a couple of hours of brainstorming we decided to build Memora Vision, an AI-powered visual memory assistant.

It was our first time with AMD cloud

Anyways we've got a couple more credits to get us through the hackathon and I know @AIatAMD are gonna make that process more seamless like the others are.

One challenge we faced was destroying the GPU droplets (getting them at a state where our credit depletion will halt until we want to use it again). We were able to stop the running instance but we couldn't still destroy it.

We tested our @QwenVlerc model on a video sample, by sending frames at 2s intervals to the model and undoubtedly, it was able to understand the scenes and create events from them to be stored in memory for later query from the user.

Now to our business on the GPUs

We needed a vision language model for video analysis so we sshed into the server and deploy our VL model (Qwen2.5VL 7B intruct) and boom we have our API for inference.

In just a couple of minutes the GPU cluster was live for usage.

From absolute zero knowledge to having a running GPU cluster was all possible with the aid of great documentation and videos provided by AMD on their platforms really helped grasp the in and out of AMD Cloud quickk
