When will demanding climate action and an end to fossil fuels go mainstream? What will it take?
Back in 2006 I would have been horrified to know this would still be a fringe demand even at this level of climate impact. Society is responding so much more slowly than I expected.
”The leak reveals Saudi Arabia, Japan and Australia are among countries asking the UN to play down the need to move rapidly away from fossil fuels.”

The new IPCC report contains no real surprises. It confirms what we already know from thousands previous studies and reports - that we are in an emergency. It’s a solid (but cautious) summary of the current best available science. 1/2
I’m honestly struggling to find any words left to describe the full horror we face & the urgency with which we need to act to avert its worst

And in case anyone’s worried about emissions from Evergreen ships like these, carrying our stuff from outsourced factories, don’t be! Emissions from intl aviation and shipping are excluded from our statistics. So in theory, they don’t exist. It feels better that way, doesn’t it?

This isn’t because “2020 sucks”, it’s because of climate change and the fossil fuel industry, who knew for decades the damage they would cause, but decided to destroy life on earth because it made them rich.
This isn’t a “2020 is a bad year” thing, this will continue to worsen.
A bunch of mostly white men, decided that a black, non-transgender woman who *naturally* produces more testosterone than her competitors, can no longer run unless she take drugs to alter her body.
It’s vile. It’s racist. It sickens me.
