Your pastor supports this government, but he will climb pulpit on Sunday and ask you to pray for prosperity. Lmaoo. If you don’t see the foolishness in that, something is wrong with you.
My one year old toddler used his water bottle to hit me so hard on my face while I was sleeping today. Omoooooo to be papa no easy cos I still had to speak to him calmly to stop doing that.. oh chim!
i got a great-paying job in mid-august. the pay was so good that the money i sent my mum from my first salary made her cry and pray for me.
today, it’s october. i’ve been laid off from that job, and i’ve laid my mum at the morgue back home.
how are you doing today?
DAY 10 of the October-Verse, @Tirednaijaunc poem is about being trapped between lost innocence and unrealised potential. A haunting exploration of suffering and the temptation of escape.
Went to this bar at ikeja and these mummies; probably in their 40s are having the time of their lives😂
They are dancing to 2010-2018 afrobeats, screaming ecstatically, taking pictures, making videos and just living the life of their heads😂
One person moved over to where I was to answer a call (most likely from her husband) who was probably threatening to leave the kids to go out and report her to her family. She told him to hold on, called her parents and siblings, added him to the call, reported herself, left them on the call and went back to partying with her friends🤣🤣🤣
She asked for more bottles of drinks and told them that she was done holding down a man that wasn’t ready to be held down and that she too needed to wind down sometimes, one person said she’d switched her own phone off, that everyone will be alright😂
I’m so so so proud of these women 👏🏾
Life is for the living. Life is for all of us to live. Living life isn’t gender specific.
Day 8 of the OCTOBER-VERSE.
@Enemona_Udile 's NOW is a tender reflection on the bittersweet journey from childhood to adulthood, mourning the innocence, unconditional love, and uncomplicated happiness we seem to lose along the way.
A beautiful way to end the week.
@JN_Chukwudi@0seazam I highly think it’s worrisome. My take on this especially in Lagos is manipulation by LASAA. Also, Seyi Tinubu is the CEO of Loatsad Promomedia and they are responsible for most of the outdoor advert placements in Lagos, you know what this implies…
And for DAY 6 of the OCTOBER-VERSE, let's look at @Ariathedoll 's a humorous free-verse poem about unrequited love, emotional power and romantic persistence.
I think this might be a personal favourite 😂
The 5th entry to the October-verse.
This confessional/free-verse lyric by @logho_ speaks of emotional indecision, attachment, and the fear of choosing wrongly. A tale we can relate to, a roundabout connecting desire, loyalty, guilt, fear and the instinct for self-preservation.
Day 4 of the OCTOBER-VERSE
This wonderful poem by @TheOmolayo is essentially a celebration of complexity.
The piece relies heavily on short sentences, parallelism and paradox to show that you don't have to choose one version of yourself to be worthy of love or admiration.
