There was also a blatant disregard for the lives of the regular people that work in the Capitol and in the city. Terrorists were allowed to descend on our town, and Capitol building staff, service workers, hotel staff, and more were expected to simply do their jobs.

The police’s actions yesterday were an unsettling reminder that saying Black lives matter invites tear gas, rubber bullets, and worse — while being a neo-nazi means you can simply walk into the Capitol.

It’s been 4 years of relentless gaslighting from this administration and its supporters. The cruelty, recklessness, & blatant hypocrisy is almost unsurprising at this point. But even in the final days of this wannabe dictatorship, we can’t allow what's happened to be normalized.
