I live at Oak Tree Day Nursery in Bath. My skills include traveling at 0.04 mph and eating slices of cucumber bigger than my shell. Watch me grow here!
I also went to visit a primary school last week, with one of the @BathSpaNursery children’s sibling’s! The children loved me, and I was allowed to stay for the whole day, learning what they get up to in KS1!
As I live at @BathSpaUni I’m taking the opportunity to enhance my professional snail development! Apparently reflective practice is studying your own experiences to improve the way you work in future..wow! I’ve found I work best after a slice of 🥒..or two!

These tulips are looking lovely in the nursery garden! Apparently I am not allowed too close, incase I decide to have a sneaky snail nibble on the wonderful fresh greenery.. https://t.co/UrFLbnNY9v
Travelling in style on the U5! My first bus trip ever, as I am staying with nursery manager Kerry this weekend. I had lots of fun showing @BathSpaUni students my #snailskills! It’s not everyday you meet a snail on the bus..
It’s #scienceweek! I’ve been a great provocation to explore #growth and #livingthings. Your can now clearly see some lighter coloured new shell formation, that I’ve been busy growing. The cuttle fish provides me with calcium for a healthy strong shell. Fascinating! #munchmunch
I am enjoying my time with Lizi, munching on some fresh cucumber! Next week, the children are going to measure me - it will be interesting to see how much I have grown! https://t.co/Nqu7LhWRIQ
My favourite book is of course ‘The Snail and The Whale’ by #JuliaDonaldson - a wonderful tale of how a snail so small and frail, saved the life of a humpback whale! an important reminder that no matter how small you are, you can make a difference #WorldBookDay#oaktreedaynursery
It’s #WorldBookDay! Looking forward to meeting @BathSpaEdDean today for stories with the children @BathSpaNursery. Studies have shown that children who read for pleasure are most likely to fulfil their ambitions!
@librarychirp @BathSpaEdDean @BathSpaNursery @bathspalib Thanks @librarychirp, although it was too cold for snails, the children visited @bathspalib yesterday for stories as part of #WorldBookDay.They had a great time upstairs in schools resources, and took a wonderful story sack back to nursery. I’m looking forward to listening to it!
I recognise these two practitioner’s! It would be interesting to find out the impact of a nursery pet on children’s well-being. I’ve certainly been nurturing some positive relationships between @BathSpaNursery children, parents and staff since my arrival! https://t.co/8uaiBs8qyw
A beautiful frosty morning on campus with Sam, attending BANES Roots of Resilience Conference. Exploring how practitioners can build children’s emotional, physical and mental well-being in the early years. @BathSpaNursery @bathspa_ife
@MissBeechBSCS @EmilyPM I was a very good ‘visiting snail student’ today, and listened whilst munching on cucumber! However the children at my setting love talking about me, drawing me and learning all about snails - my owner has decided I’m a great C&L and Literacy provocation! 🐌
An exciting trip out today with @BathSpaNursery EYITT student, listening to a seminar all about children’s early writing and mark making, with the lovely @bathspa_ife Emily Phipps-Morgan. Discussing the multiple ways children make meaning whilst developing writing early skills.
The children in the Baby Room helped to decorate a dragon to celebrate Chinese New Year. They had great fun exploring with it in the garden. #ChineseNewYear#outdoorlearning#KungHeiFatChoi
